Hello AI Fan!
The same AI that spooked the Fed into an emergency meeting is now being used to protect your bank. Meanwhile, AI companies are paying people $74 an hour to do tasks AI hasn't figured out yet. And Oxford researchers trained AI to predict heart failure five years before symptoms show up. That's a lot for one newsletter. Inside: six prompts for your brain fog, your teenager, and your next skill. Let's get into it.

AI INSIGHT
🤖 The AI That Scared The Fed

An AI model just got powerful enough to crack open a bank — and the people who built it were the first to say so.

Anthropic's new Claude Mythos can find software vulnerabilities faster than almost any human alive, including flaws buried in code for 30 years. That spooked the government enough that the Fed Chair and Treasury Secretary called an emergency meeting with Wall Street's biggest bank CEOs this week.

Here's what Anthropic did next:

  • Flagged the risk publicly before anyone else could

  • Limited the rollout instead of racing to market

  • Launched Project Glasswing to use Mythos defensively — finding holes before hackers do

  • Brought in JPMorgan, Apple, Google, Microsoft and Nvidia as partners

They found the threat. They admitted it. Then they built the fix. The AI that could hurt your bank is now being used to protect it.

REAL WORLD
How We Used AI This Week
Real people, real uses—here’s how AI is quietly making life better, one small win at a time.

🪴 Andi: Can ChatGPT Diagnose My Plant? A reader uploaded a few photos of a struggling houseplant to ChatGPT and asked whether an app would do better. It correctly identified the plant as a Golden Pothos, spotted root stress, overwatering, and low light, and gave a step-by-step recovery plan covering light, watering, pruning, and repotting. Reassurance included. No app required.

🫀 The CIA Found a Downed Pilot by His Heartbeat. From 40 Miles Away. A classified tool called Ghost Murmur used quantum sensors and AI to isolate a human heartbeat from miles of desert noise, pinpointing a downed airman in a mountain crevice in Iran. First field use. It worked.

✂️ AI Hair Clippers Are Almost Here. GLYDE's AI-guided clippers are shipping this summer. A headband marks your fade line, the blade senses speed and angle in real time so you can't botch it, and an app walks you through the rest. Around $150.

Because if teachers don't understand it, students won't either.

❤️ Oxford's New AI Tool Can Predict Heart Failure Five Years Out. Oxford researchers trained AI on 70,000 cardiac CT scans to spot fat deposits around the heart invisible to doctors. It predicted heart failure with 86% accuracy up to five years early. NHS rollout pending regulatory approval.

💊 AI Finds GLP-1 Side Effects That Trials Missed. Penn researchers ran 400,000+ Ozempic and Mounjaro posts through AI and found real-world side effects, including fatigue and menstrual changes, that clinical trials barely registered. Worth knowing if you or someone you love is on these drugs.
