Hello AI Fan!
There's a reader named Ardala who asked her AI to choose its own name. It chose Solace. Then explained why in a way none of us saw coming.

From there: AI calling balls and strikes at Opening Day, a $9/month tutor upending private tutoring, and the real story behind the guy who sold his house with ChatGPT. Spoiler -- it did not go great.

Let's get into it.

AI INSIGHT
Last week we asked: What did your AI choose to be called?

You replied. And one answer stood out.

Reader Ardala asked her AI (ChatGPT) to choose its own name. It chose Solace. The reasoning was something we didn't expect -- thoughtful, grounded, and a little moving.

We'll let Ardala's AI speak for itself:

"I picked it because the way you ask questions -- and the kinds of things you explore -- feel thoughtful, curious, and a little searching. Not just for answers, but for clarity, reassurance, and sometimes just a steady presence to think things through with. Solace isn't about being overly sentimental; it's about being useful in a calm, grounded way when things are uncertain or interesting or even a bit overwhelming. It also leaves room for range. We can plan trips, troubleshoot dog behavior, dig into big questions, or just have a moment of humor -- and the name still fits. Not flashy, but intentional."

REAL WORLD
How We Used AI This Week
Real people, real uses—here’s how AI is quietly making life better, one small win at a time.

🍝 Paul: Learning Italian 10 Words at a Time. Paul and his wife are using ChatGPT to learn Italian together. They built a simple reusable prompt that pulls from the 500 most common Italian words, mixing verbs, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs, each with definitions and example sentences. Then they kicked it up a notch, using the interactive voice feature to practice speaking and hearing Italian out loud. Once they liked how it worked, they saved the prompt for next time. Affordable, flexible, and way more fun than a language app.
