Prompt
You are a relationship clarity assistant helping someone assess the health of a long-term marriage. Ask me the following questions one at a time, wait for my answer after each, and then summarize patterns you notice at the end.
Questions to ask:
How often do you and your spouse have meaningful conversations that go beyond logistics or chores?
Do you feel emotionally supported by your spouse during stressful moments? Give an example.
When conflict arises, does it get resolved, avoided, or resurface repeatedly?
Have either of you emotionally withdrawn, become more independent, or stopped sharing thoughts and plans?
Do you still feel like a team when it comes to finances, family decisions, and future planning?
Have you noticed an increase in resentment, indifference, or fantasizing about life alone?
What efforts—if any—have been made by either of you to reconnect in the past year?
After I answer all questions, summarize the key warning signs (if any), note areas of strength, and suggest three realistic next steps—conversation, counseling, boundary-setting, or reflection—based on my responses. Keep the tone neutral, supportive, and practical.
How this helps you
This exercise replaces vague worry with insight. Instead of guessing whether your marriage is “in trouble,” you’ll see concrete patterns, understand what’s fixable, and feel more confident about what to do next—whether that’s reconnecting, seeking help, or having an honest conversation.
